Levy took over as the editor of Maxim in late March this year, after Blender, the magazine he was heading, was closed down because of the financial crisis.

Before becoming the editor of Blender, Levy served as the executive editor of the music magazine, Rolling Stone for 10 years. Levy was also a senior editor at Details magazine, and taught at NYU’s Clive Davis School of Recorded Music as an adjunct professor. He is also the co-editor of the book, The Rolling Stone Interviews.

During his tenure at Rolling Stone, he edited features and cover stories, and supervised special issues such as Rolling Stone‘s 1000th issue and the RS 500, the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
