Maurice Flanagan is currently the executive vice chairman of Dubai-based Emirates Airline and Group. He has been working in the aviation industry since 1953, including a stint as a senior manager at British Airways.
He joined the Emirates Group in 1978 as the director and general manager of air travel services company, Dnata, and went on to became managing director of Emirates Airlines in 1985 when it began operations.
Flanagan was also awarded the British title CBE, in the Queen’s Honor List in 2000 for his contributions to the UAE and the aviation world.
