The former United Nations Secretary General was pleased with the Live 8 concerts saying: “This is really a United Nations. The whole world has come together in solidarity with the poor.”

The Ghanaian diplomat served as the seventh Secretary-General of the UN, and held two five-year terms. He was the first person from a black African nation to serve the post.
