Mediaquest’s arab luxury world conference proves big hit

Luxury meet attracts industry leaders and experts

Luxury brands from across the GCC gathered to share industry insights and information, and potential growth for the future at the arab luxury world conference, organized by Mediaquest Corp.

On June 2 and 3, the Westin Mina Siyahi was a hub for professionals in the luxury sector, courtesy of the inaugural arab luxury world conference.

The two-day event included a number of different sessions, such as panel discussions, private breakout sessions and workshops held by more than 130 experts in the industry.

One highlight was a presentation by Rémy Oudghiri, the director of trends and insights at Ipsos, which highlights new research. He says: “Everything that is new is prized in the Middle East region. […] Luxury is a symbol of the future.”

Another noteworthy panel, entitled The Tourist Effect, featured Albert Momdijan, founder and CEO of Sokotra Capital, that revealed insights on the influx of visitors that the UAE receives per year. He explained that, in 2013, 11 million tourists visited Dubai, of which 28 per cent hailed from Russia, the UK and France.

“The inaugural arab luxury world conference was very well received. It provided a much-needed platform for savvy industry professionals to connect with one another and have meaningful conversations around the issues that matter the most,” says Julien Hawari, Co-CEO of Mediaquest Corp.
