Richard Gere
A strong and vocal supporter for Tibet, the award winning American actor is a practicing Buddhist. He is a co-founder of the Tibet House and the chairman of the board of directors for the International Campaign for Tibet. He is even banned from entering China.
Gere started his career in the theatre, playing a lead role in the London production of the rock musical Grease in 1973. His entry into Hollywood came with the thriller Looking For Mr. Goodbar in 1977.
