  • Ellen De Generes at 54 has been listed as one of the most powerful women in the world. She is recognized all over the world as a comedian and TV personality. She is number 47 on the list.

  • Jennifer Lopez, at 43 years old is one of the most famous celebrities and musical artists in the world and has been listed by Forbes as the 38th most powerful woman.

  • Arianna Huffington, at the age of 62, is known to online readers all over the globe for her launch and editorial duties at Huffington Post Media. She is number 29.

  • Queen Elizabeth 2, royal monarch and Queen of England has been listed as number 26 on the most powerful women list. Her Majesty is 86 years old and is considered to be one of the most respected and well known royals in the world.

  • Marissa Mayer has been appointed the CEO of Yahoo! and at the age of 37 it is extremely remarkable for her to be ranked by Forbes as 21 on the list.

  • Ursula Burns's name may not sound too familiar but being the President and CEO of Xerox at the age of 53 has placed her as the 17th most powerful woman in the world.

  • Oprah Winfrey is loved by millions for her years of work as a TV personality and running her own television show. At the age of 58 she is also known for her work in philanthropy. Her Television show had recently come to an end and yet she finds herself at number 11.

  • Christine Lagarde, being the Managing Director of the IMF, is less known for celebrity acts and more for political and economic influence. She has been on the list since its initiation in 2004 and is now number 8 at the age of 56.
