Oops… Emirates Airline’s Arabic fail
Can you spot what’s wrong with this? Emirates Airline clearly didn’t
August 10, 2014 12:54 by kippreport
In a video shot last month, the airline’s in-flight screens display Arabic text scrolling in the wrong direction.
Arabic is read from right to left, however, as the video shows, the text on the screen is scrolling in the opposite direction. This means passengers read the end of the sentence first and then wait for its beginning.
You would think that the iconic Arab airline, which recorded an increase of 5.1 million passengers between 2013 and 2014, would make a little effort to ensure that at least its own native tongue is displayed correctly on in-flight screens.
