Despite some misgivings people in the Middle East may have about who’s nominated and who are possible winners for the Oscars, there is still a relatively important number of people who will be looking for their latest fix of acting and filming nods.
(see Kipp’s False Predictions blog to find out people are still hoping some non-nominees could still win the Oscars this Sunday)
For the fourth consecutive year, Fox International Channels Middle East has had exclusive rights to broadcast the Oscars Awards. And Athreyan Sundararajan, marketing director, Fox International Channels Middle East, talked to Kipp about the company’s push to promote their exclusive rights to broadcast the awards night extravaganza.
Fox put together a microsite, teasers, and even a 30-minute pre-Oscar show with celebrity Ashray Hamdy.
The company has also set up a campaign on its Facebook page pushing the live airing of the show.
In terms of the push off-line, the channel also put together an ad campaign in malls, radio and the outdoor space.
