Letterman battered Hilton about her jail experience during an episode of the “Late Show with David Letterman” in September 2007, but later apologized for his behavior and even called her back to the show in February last year.
A celebrated talk show host, Letterman has close to 30 years experience doing late night comedy. His first break came in 1978 as a performer on the CBS variety series “Mary.” In November the same year, he made the first of his 22 appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.”
In 1980, he began hosting “The David Letterman Show,” which ran for three months on NBC and won two Emmys. “Late Night with David Letterman” premiered in 1982, and has received five Emmys. Eleven years later the “Late Show with David Letterman” hit the screens and has had a successful run ever since.
