Pish posh!

Kipp is a little taken aback to learn of the new limited edition Range Rover Evoque which Victoria Beckham helped 'style.'

Victoria Beckham. Kipp associates a lot of things with ‘Posh Spice’, including anorexia, painfully high heels, oversized sunglasses, pouting, and a particular hair cut called the Pob. But the one thing Kipp would never, ever, ever associate Mrs.Beckham with, is cars. Sure, we’ve seen pictures of Posh Spice getting out of cars, getting into cars and yes, we have even seen pictures of her driving a car-but that is as far as the Posh-automobile industry connection goes.
How strange then, to learn of the new limited edition Range Rover Evoque which Victoria Beckham helped ‘style.’ The 4×4, is nearly double the price of the regular Evoque at a cool Dh475,000 – oh, and there are only 200 of these available in the market. “It’s a great honour,” said Posh. “I wanted to design a car that I want to drive and that David would want to drive. I want a car that reflects my personality. I’m really proud of this car.’
This is the car she is referring to.
Ahem. Right, because, when we saw the picture of this Evoque, the first thing that popped into our heads was the wispy, pouty member of the Spice Girls.
Kipp isn’t the only one confused by the association. Speaking to reporters about her approach to the project, Victoria said: ‘I brought a naivety to this project because I have never designed a car before. But it feels real.” But don’t let that modest comment make you think Lady Beckham was not well prepared for such a project: “I did a lot of research and not just with cars, old and new, but boats, planes, movie stars, different locations. It would be hard to pinpoint exactly where the inspiration came from. It’s just what I like, that’s the bottom line. I don’t try to be too technical about it … It’s what feels real to me.”
So apart from the “realness” factor, what sets the new Evoque apart from the others? According to Land Rover, here some of the top features of the limited edition series:
• Unique 20” gloss black forged alloy wheels with rose-gold accents
• Rose-gold plated grille surround and badging
• Exclusive rose-gold plated interior accents
• Unique and ultra-luxurious mohair floor mats and microsuede headlining
As far as brand ambassadors go, the Victoria Beckham and Range Rover partnership is pretty damn strange–although it does give the Hugh Laurie and L’Oréal tie-up a run for its money.
