Pop singer Rihanna has confirmed that she will not be performing at a concert in Dubai, which was scheduled for May 28, because the “timing was inappropriate.”

“We put an offer across with a large amount of money, and it unfortunately did not happen,” Yassin Matbouly, managing director of Vibe Entertainment Management Agency told the Associated Press. “We heard it was inappropriate timing for her to have a public concert.”

May 28 is also the date of her ex-boyfriend’s court hearing; Chris Brown, was accused of beating up the 21-year-old singer in February.
