The 50-year-old singer was also accompanied by her then husband Guy Richie, whom she divorced late last year, reportedly paying him more than $70 million in settlement. The singer is now said to be dating 22-year-old Brazilian model Jesus Luz.
Madonna was born in Michigan, and supposedly arrived in New York with $35 in her pocket in 1978. She worked at Dunkin’ Donuts in Times Square, and as a figure model for artists.
In the late 1970s, Madonna formed a band called The Breakfast Club, before going solo. She released her self-titled debut album in 1983 that had hits like “Holiday,” “Burning Up,” “Lucky Star” and “Borderline.”
The Material Girl has acted in several movies, and also co-founded her record company, Maverick Records in 1991.
