Salaam Al Shaksy

The CEO of Dubai Bank, he has just won the Best Banker of the Year Award at the Islamic Business & Finance Awards 2008.

Salaam Al Shaksy took over the reins of the bank in June last year, after Dubai Bank’s merger with Dubai Islamic Investment Group. Apart from being the CEO of the bank, he has along list of other positions; he is also the CEO of the Dubai Banking Group, a board member of Bank Islam, Malaysia, the vice chairman of Dubai First and Shell Oman Marketing and the chairman of Oman National Investment Corporation Holding.
The banker has over 20 years of experience, and recently won the best banker award for the year at the Islamic Business and Finance Awards 2008.
While Dubai Bank launched in 2002, it became a Shari’a compliant in 2007, and announced profits of more than AED232 million for the first half of 2008.
