As director general of Dubai’s Department of Economic Development (DED), he can be easily connected to various important figures in the emirate.

Sami Ahmad Daen Al Qamzi, the head of Dubai’s Department of Economic Development (DED) is quite positive about the economic climate in the emirate. Dubai will post economic growth of between 1.5 and 2 percent this year, he said last month, adding that the overall economic situation in the UAE is good compared to other nations in the Gulf region.
Previously the director general of the Dubai government’s Department of Finance, Al Qamzi has many portfolios; he is a board member of Union National Bank, the Securities and Commodities Authority and the International City for Humanitarian Aids, among others.
In the past Al Qamzi has also worked as the CEO of Al Bayan Press, and the CFO for Dubai Media Incorporated.
