Samsung launches Galaxy S5 in the UAE
Fifth-generation phone is integrated with the new Gear Fit wearable device

Samsung Electronics announced the launch of the fifth-generation Galaxy S series, the Galaxy S5, and its fitness companion, the Gear Fit, today (Wednesday, April 2).
The Galaxy S5 offers new camera functionality, featuring a 16-megapixel camera, with an enhanced menu and user interface that allows consumers to take, edit and share photos. Its autofocus has a speed of up to 0.3 seconds and it comprises high-dynamic range (HDR) that reproduces natural light and colors.
The smartphone also supports fifth-generation WiFi 802.11ac and 2X2 MIMO, and a large number of LTE frequencies, with LTE Category 4 standard. The Galaxy S5 also offers a finger scanner, which provides a biometric screen-locking feature.
The Samsung Gear Fit is a curved wearable device. It integrates with the new phone, sending instant notifications, and offers custom and real-time fitness coaching.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is available in three models across leading retail outlets in the UAE. The Galaxy S5 (LTE) 32GB is priced at AED2,899, the Galaxy S5 (LTE) 16GB costs AED2,699 and the Galaxy S5 (3G) 16GB is priced at AED2,599.
Meanwhile, fitness-oriented wearables, the Gear Fit, the Samsung Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo, will retail at AED799, AED1,199 and AED799, respectively.
