Shah Rukh Khan
The “king of Indian cinema,” as he is called, was recently in town to launch Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard, a $2.2bn development in Ras Al Khaimah. “It’s not just an endorsement,” he said during the event. “It’s much more than that.”
An actor, film producer and a television host, Khan started his career by appearing in several television serials and made his film debut with the movie Deewana in 1992. Since then he has acted in several movies in varying roles and has won seven Filmfare Best Actor Awards.
In 2005 a two-part documentary called The Inner and Outer World of Shah Rukh Khan was made on his life, and two books, Still Reading Khan and King of Bollywood: Shahrukh Khanand the Seductive World of Indian Cinema , have been written about him. In 2007, Khan’s life-size wax statue was installed in Madame Tussauds wax museum.
