Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem is chairman of Dubai World and its subsidiary companies. Dubai World is “one of the biggest holding companies in the world” managing and supervising various business sectors.

Sulayem’s guidance has led the company to become the fourth largest port operator in the world. Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), a business park with a “global arm,” Jafza International and Nakheel, “one of the biggest master developers in the world” are two companies that Sulayem has established. He also founded Istithmar, an investment house focusing on private equity and real estate, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), a center in the commodities business, and Limitless, the international real estate developer.

In 2008, the UK based Middlesex University presented him with an Honorary Doctorate “in recognition of his dedication to excellence and commitment to the economic development of the UAE and the Arab world.” The World Economic Forum has also chosen him as “Global Leader for Tomorrow”.
