Surprise gifting: a great Ramadan offer?
A Brazilian company has just introduced prepaid “surprise” gift-giving, an idea which could work very well in the region.

Surprising family or close friends with gifts is a proven winner. And a Brazilian startup has decided to milk money out of the concept. Springwise profiles Ticket to Mind, which offers men prepaid plans for multiple gifts over a set period of time.
Ticket to Mind offers four different plans: basic, plus, advanced and express, ranging in price from $12 to $42 per month. The express plan, for example, is aimed at “conquering a new love or renewing an existing one,” and the company will send three bouquets of flowers over a four-month period, at random times. The sender receives a notification before each bouquet is shipped, and the flowers include a card with a message – based on information provided by the sender. The name of the company is not mentioned on the gifts or packaging.
Other gifts include chocolates, toys and cosmetics. Prices for each plan include products, shipping and notifications, with no additional costs charged. Gift-givers can also track shipments online and pick a few of the gifting dates.
A basic and simple idea, it can be used anywhere in the world, including the Middle East. In fact the idea could work especially well here during Ramadan, traditionally the month of giving. Surprising family and friends with gift baskets (maybe with dates and sweets), is bound to bring smiles.
