How could Kipp bring you a business of books without having at least one slide on a company that revolutionized the way books were sold? Amazon, was started by Jeff Bezos, who called his website “Earth’s Biggest Book Store.” Though in its first six months it sold only half a million dollars worth of book, by 1996 and 1997 it was reporting sales of $15.7 million and a more impressive $147.8 million shortly after. The website which sells not only books, but clothes, electronics, furniture and whole lot of other stuff, is still one of the primary seller of books both traditional and e-books, especially since the launch of the Kindle.
