With the Dubai Shopping Festival 2011 all set to begin, Kipp takes you through the inner workings of the retail extravaganza (and traffic nightmare).

Last year, the DSF boasted shopping promotions being offered by 6,000 retail outlets and 40 shopping malls. While the promotions offered varied in the amount that was on discount (as high as 80 percent), the festival is ‘celebrated’ across pretty much all sectors. Though it has to be said, textiles, electronics, fashion, computers, gold, perfumes and gold are the preferred sales.
