All those “official FIFA Partners” and “FIFA World Cup Sponsors” and “National Supporters” paid a pretty penny for the privilege of supporting the teams – about $277 million last year alone, up nearly 10 percent from 2008. Here’s a rundown of FIFA’s biggest deals:

Adidas extended its sponsorship agreement with FIFA for the World Cup tournaments in 2010 and 2014 in a deal worth $351 million.

Coca Cola and FIFA partnered up in 2001 to the tune of $500 million. The agreement runs through 2012 and includes the World Cup tournament.

In 2006 Emirates became the first airline to sponsor the World Cup games. The following year, the company paid $195 million to become a FIFA partner through to 2014.

Sony paid $305 million in 2007 for a seven year deal that includes the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
