This sultry one-named singer from Saudi opened a clothing line a year ago in Beirut, which she now calls home. The clothing line, called Waed Line, is also planned to open in Riyadh.
In an exclusive interview in Haya magazine, Waed (which means ‘promise’ in Arabic) said she has always had a love for designing clothes and considers singing as her hobby. She also reveals that she gets more returns from the clothing line then she does from singing, especially in these times when less people are buying CDs.
Although she says she’ll continue singing, Waed, whose real name is Hanan Bakr Younes, hopes one day major female singers will wear her collection. Curious about her collection? Here’s their Facebook page, which so far has a humble 57 followers: http://www.facebook.com/WaedLine
