The Network of… 2010

Burj Khalifa, MI 4, Wikileaks, World Cup… 2010 has meant a lot of things to Kipp —here is our pick of the people who made 2010 the year it was.

Many were banking on 2010 to be the antithesis of 2009, but in the event any recovery was slow and limited. Looking on the bright side, things didn’t get much worse, but the year was still a bit of a disappointment.
For these six people, however, 2010 was a stellar year. After a considerable amount of deliberation, here is Kipp’s pick of the top six people in the news in our region this year.
**Although they didn’t make it to our list, special mention goes to: du CEO Osman Sultan who enjoyed record high profits and subscriptions in 2010; Lady Gaga who won 2 Grammys and became a household name for her weird gaga-performance-art-thing; Dubai World’s former chairman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, who oversaw the litigious company through its toughest year yet as it attempted to restructure its $23 billion debt; James Cameron who made his billion dollar comeback with Avatar, and unfortunately the little squeaky plastic being that is Justin Bieber, who topped the most twittered about, most googled about lists.
Anyone we missed? Let us know your pick.
