According to news reports, the rainy spell the UAE has been experiencing for the last few of weeks will come to end on Tuesday, with temperatures going up to around 30 degree Celsius. Met department officials have said that the low pressure system over the UAE that was causing the rains will be moving away.

According to our poll, most people will be sad to see the rain go away. More than 65 percent of our respondents said that they love it when the sky is overcast.

But the weather has not wooed everybody. More than 25 percent said that they are unable to enjoy the rains because the UAE does not have the infrastructure to deal with this sort of weather. Many roads across the country have been flooded, and driving has become hazardous. Rain-related accidents have claimed a number of lives in the region.

Furthermore, around 6 percent of our respondents said that the rains have ruined their plans. Many people were compelled to stay indoors during the weekends because of bad weather forecasts. Rains drenched spectators at the $6 million Dubai World Cup, as well as audiences at concerts featuring Andrea Bocelli and Coldplay in Abu Dhabi.

And finally, 3 percent of respondents asked: “Who cares”?
