Robert Redford, best known for his performances in the likes of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Downhill Racer, The Way We Were and The Sting, is also known for his commitment to environmental and political causes. When he was in town, Redford spoke to the UAE students about the power of film: “So I see film as a great way to communicate. I guess I don’t see film as just a simple way of entertainment; that’s just a small part of it. you fail to note that in the CNN
interview ( the CNN interviewer
was not intelligent enough not to
blow), Mr. Assange politely warned (several times with great patience)
that he would not allow the grave importance of the news he was sharing to be trivialized by the
interviewer’s repeated descent into
cheap tabloid journalism.
