Forbes is an American bi-weekly business magazine launched by Bertie Charles Forbes, known as B. C. Forbes and his partner Walter Drey in 1917. B.C. Forbes went to New York in 1904, and got his first job as a reporter for The Journal of Commerce. A decade later he became a well-known business columnist for Hearst Papers. He used the magazine to publish all the feature articles that were too voluminous for his daily column. Headquartered in New York City, the magazine is one of the largest and most successful family businesses in the world, and was aimed for top decision makers, but also reports on technology, communications, science, and law. Forbes publishes its very popular list of the richest, most powerful people and the biggest companies on Earth, every year. Steve Forbes, once a political candidate for President of the United States of America, is the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief and has his very own column in every issue called “Fact and Comment.” Online version of the magazine and other lifestyle supplements are also available.
