The Six Degrees of… Lara Dutta
The former Miss Universe was in Dubai this weekend for her bachelorette party, but how can we link her to a German rock group obsessed with sport via the region’s business big shots?

The German rock group wrote a song inspired by Santa Cruz back in 2004. It was called “Ich Roque.”
This odd band is from Germering, near Munich. Stiller was the surname of a former football manager, and Sportfreunde translates to ‘friends in sports.’ As you might imagine, the band’s back catalogue reflects its name, and they have recorded songs for the world cup and for the video game FIFA 2003.
It may surprise you to hear it, but the band has actually met with some pretty serious commercial and critical success. They have had at least one number one hit in Germany, and been nominated for numerous MTV Europe Music Awards. They’re not as big as David Hasselhoff, of course, but they’re doing okay.
