Relatively unknown prior to the screening of her debut on the Oprah Winfrey show, Lamees Hamdan, is an Emirati mother of two and medical doctor-turned-entrepreneur; she is the Founder & CEO of Shiffa, a 100-percent organic skincare line. Her brand Shiffa has earned her two Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid awards for Young Business Leaders; for Best Business Woman of the Year 2005. Although her achievements counted for very little to the Lamees haters in Dubai, who felt slighted by her cavalier representation of Dubai as a glitzy and glamorous city with absolutely no poor. So much so, that it caused the following person to design a special “Leave Lamees Alone: she will pay our bills” t-shirt
