“It happened overnight with the Lamees T-shirt and I thought, OK, this is fun – it seems to have created some sort of debate, and you know, that’s a good thing. At first, some people were not really happy, but the majority came to an understanding towards it at the end and realised there is something special” is what Al Habtoor told The National late last year. When he created the Lamees T-shirt, little did he know he would soon be creating the very shirt that would lead to him opening his company, House of GlaMO with his friend Tamara al Gabbani, which would be represented by the A-Lounge. His shirts , or situational art as Habtoor likes to call them, are punchy, witty but most importantly very successful. And with a start like the “Leave Lamees Alone” shirt, who wouldn’t expect any less? Of course, the shirt is making reference to internet meme sensation…
