H.H Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan
Joining the list of passengers on Virgin Glactic spaceship’s maiden voyage is Sheikh Mansour, who is reported to have paid $40 million as a deposit. He is the half brother of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and is married to Sheikha “Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum” Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the daughter H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. Most of you know him as the owner of the U.K’s Manchester City Football Club. Sheikh Mansour owns 71 percent of Aabar Investments and heads the International Petroleum Investment Company. He is also known to have a 32 percent stake in Virgin Glactic after investing $280m in the project through Aabar. This partnership will allow Aabar exclusive local rights to host Virgin Galactic tourism and research flights in its soon-to-be launched “spaceport” in Abu Dhabi.
