He is the man of the moment (or so it would seem). Tony Blair paid the UAE a visit as special envoy to the Middle East for the United Nations, the United States, the European Union and Russia. Blair, who served as prime minister for Britain for a decade, stressed the importance of understanding faith on his visit to the Emirates. The National quoted him as saying, “The question is, does religious faith play a negative role, becoming a form of identification as an opposition to people of other faiths, or … a civilising role … helping people come together, live with each other in peace and harmony?
