A “C” is engraved on arms of the glasses. And with a price tag like that, Kipp won’t be surprised if it will soon enter the Guinness Book of World records as the most expensive and precious sunglasses in the world.

Designed by CliC eyewear inventor Ron Lando and eyewear designer Hugh Power, the CliC glasses clip at the bridge of the nose using magnets. Talk about a major, ‘ouch’ thinks Kipp. Complete with 18-carat gold, a sapphire and a diamond, these optics are available at Jaber Opticals at the Dubai Mall.

Inspired by the Roman emperor Nero, who supposedly used to watch gladiators fight through polished emeralds hollowed-out-like-lenses, these frames are made of 18-carat gold studded with diamonds. The lens is made of a hollowed out emerald which took five years to source and almost three months to shape, polish and cut. Although, Albert Bensimon, the Managing Director of Shiels, has already found a potential buyer who is also an International star, he refused to reveal further details of the buyer. Kipp has our suspicions about the potentially Middle Eastern origins of said buyer…

Designed by: Franco, Los Angeles, CA.
The jewel encrusted collection set comes with pave set diamonds and technologically advanced lenses.

We have our reservations of how these look, but these luxury contacts have been crafted with diamonds and gold. Weighing about 5 grams and placed “6mm and 9mm away from the cornea” which also holds water at the front to ensure that your eyes don’t feel any irritation.
For those who’d like to go with a cheaper option, there are contact lenses (gold and UV-diamond) created by InnoVison (a South Korean company), that are priced at $50 (Dh 183.63) for gold lenses and $60 ( Dh 220.35) for UV-diamond lenses that sparkle like diamonds under UV light.
