More than 3,000 taxis shuttle around the roads of Dubai. Between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm, the meter starts at AED 3 if the taxi is hailed on the road and at AED 6 if it’s been booked. It increases to AED 3.5 and AED 7 respectively at night.
The RTA is also planning to introduce the Water Taxi project to reduce traffic congestion in the city. The body has approved 27 stations for the AED 100 million project.
