Once the AED 15.5 billion Dubai Metro is complete, the authorities expect it to transport around 1.2 million passengers on an average day. There are going to be 47 stations, out of which 10 will be underground. The working cost of the project, including staff, maintenance and power, is estimated to be around AED 570 million per year.
The Dubai Metro is scheduled to start operating in September this year.
