Abras, the traditional boats which ferry passengers across the creek between Bur Dubai and Deira, charge AED 1 per trip. Dubai has 149 motorized abras and five rowing abras, and they operate from 5:00 am to midnight.
The RTA is also preparing to launch the first phase of the Dubai Ferry Service in June 2010 at a cost of AED 178 million.
