“Paul Keating would do better to walk naked in the street than continue to make comments about East Timor,” Jose Ramos-Horta, the current president of East Timor had said in a statement.

The winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1996, Ramos-Horta was appointed East Timor’s foreign minister in 2000. In 2006 the country’s Prime Minister Mari Alkatiri resigned after facing severe criticism, and was replaced by Ramos-Horta. In May 2007 Ramos-Horta was elected president, gathering nearly 70 percent of the vote.

Ramos-Horta has also been actively working with the UN, and in 2001, he went to Oslo to congratulate that year’s winner of the Noble Prize…
