William Ayers

A known anti-war activist and now a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois, William Charles Ayers co-founded Weather Underground in 1969, a radical left group. Since inception, Weather Underground has been involved in several operations, such as the bombings of the New York City Police headquarters in 1970, the United States Capitol building in 1971 and The Pentagon in 1972. In 2001, Ayers published “Fugitive Days : a memoir”, reflecting on the organization’s actions and on his underground period in the 70’s. He later expressed regrets for his past, but insists the one thing he doesn’t regret is “opposing the war in Vietnam with every ounce of my being”. The Ayers-Obama whitewash was sparked by accusations made by Republican vice-president candidate Sarah Palin, who has been repeated nailed in Saturday Night Live show’s parodies by comedian…
