From Yousif Al Ali, general manager of The Dubai Mall, to Saturday Night Live comedian Tina Fey (and a shoe guru wedged in between) the connections are bizarre, but true.

American writer, comedian, actress and producer Elizabeth Stamatina Fey, born on May 18, 1970, graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Drama in 1992. After attempting to concentrate on improvisation and then stand-up comedy, she became a writer on Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 1997 and was soon promoted to head writer in 1999. She was later added to the cast in 2000. She left SNL in 2006 to start her own television sitcom, “30 Rock”, in which she portrays Liz Lemon, a head writer of series TGS with Tracy Jordan. For the final two months of the 2008 American presidential election, she reappeared on SNL impersonating Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee. Fey repeatedly declared she hopes her role as Palin will be temporary and that she will be done by November 5.
