Born in Adana, Turkey, Kıvanç rose to fame when he portrayed the heart-throb character of Mohanad on the soap opera Noor. He had to give up his childhood dream of being a basketball player due to an injury; he left modeling when he received offers to act in Turkey. When he was asked what his ideal woman would look like he said: “This is not an order you give. There is no such thing as going by blond, brunette, red-haired or blue-eyed. You are automatically drawn to someone whose spirit and soul attracts you.”
