Damaged Japanese tanker departs UAE port -sources

The M.Star to arrive at a Japanese port in Chiba, near Tokyo, around Aug. 24-25.

The Japanese supertanker damaged by a blast near the Strait of Hormuz last week departed the UAE port of Fujairah earlier on Friday, two trade sources familiar with the move said.

The M.Star is expected to arrive at a Japanese port in Chiba, near Tokyo, around Aug. 24-25, the sources said.

Investigators probing the blast found remains of homemade explosives and have blamed the incident on a “terrorist attack”, the United Arab Emirates state news agency reported on Friday.
