Ongoing violence in Libya seems to be the most brutal suppression of the anti-government protests that swept the Middle East and North Africa yet.
Since the lifting of sanctions on Libya (applied after the Lockerbie disaster), the EU has effectively normalized relations with Tripoli for business reasons. Now, the EU condemns the ongoing aggression against peaceful demonstrators in Libya and slams the violence and the killing of unarmed civilians.
