India’s opposition parties have united to protest the government’s move to hike fuel prices, disrupting normal life across the country.
A huge strike affected train services, closed major roads, and even led to the cancelation of a large number of flights in some of the most populated areas of India. The government said it will not change its mind, however, arguing that the rise in fuel prices is necessary to cut the budget deficit.
