Internet censorship in Turkey stirs anger

Young Turkish groups have launched campaigns against the government’s internet censors.

Since May 2007, more than 6,000 web pages like the Kurdish news agency, gay sites, and pornography have been banned by Turkish courts for either political or social reasons. But tightening a ban on YouTube and blocking public access to a host of Google-owned sites last month has got young Turks worried.
