Japan businesses suffer

The world is watching as Japan faces yet another crisis – this time a potential nuclear fallout from its damaged power stations. However far away from the nuclear sites, Japanese businesses are coping with other uncertainties.

Rolling blackouts are causing disruption to infrastructure and business facilities, while many workers fail to arrive for work. Damage to facilities is also being assessed, while the repercussions in financial and equity markets are still being measured. The Japanese government says it wants to provide for every citizen affected by the disaster, but the fate of the many businesses struggling back to their feet is still unclear.
