UAE aspires to world’s dominant travel hub

Despite recent delays with the opening of Dubai’s new airport, leaders in the aviation industry say the UAE will become the ultimate travel hub in 15 years.

With an estimated forty six million people passing through the Dubai International Airport in 2010, Dubai officially ranks as the world’s sixth-busiest international airport. But this is just the beginning of a very lucrative and busy aviation future, according to some.
Bloomberg’s Lara Setrakian reports on the United Arab Emirates’ plans to become the world’s dominant travel hub by 2025. Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, also speaks with Maryam Nemazee on Bloomberg Television’s “Countdown” about the major infrastructure challenges that face the expansion plan.
