UAE’s al-Qasimi first Arab woman to reach North Pole
The first Arab woman to reach the North Pole, Emirati Elham al-Qasimi talks about the experience of a lifetime.

Elham al-Qasimi, the first Arab woman to reach the North Pole, described her trek as an uplifting personal experience, that was eye-opening and fraught with both highs and lows.
“The message is pretty simple,” she said, urging women to pursue their dreams and realize their own destinies.
Al-Qasimi, 27, a former investment banker, scattered desert sand at the North Pole, in a gesture she described as symbolic of her life’s journey.
