Dubai’s Emirates NBD names ex-Barclays man group treasurer

Emirates NBD, Dubai’s largest lender by market capitalisation, has named Aazar Ali Khwaja as its group treasurer, the bank said in a statement on Sunday.

Khwaja will replace John Eldredge, a spokesman for Emirates NBD said. Sources told Reuters in February that Eldredge was leaving the bank.

Prior to his new role, Khwaja held the post of regional treasurer for emerging markets/Africa at Barclays, and has more than 20 years of experience in treasury and global markets, the statement said.

Khwaja has also worked at Citi, ABN Amro and Saudi Hollandi. (Reporting by David French; Editing by Rachna Uppal)
