Egypt’s Alcotexa sells 1,052 tonnes cotton in past week

Egypt's Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) committed to sell 1,052 tonnes of cotton in the week that ended on Aug 4, an Alcotexa official said on Monday.

Egypt’s Alexandria Cotton Exporters’ Association (Alcotexa) committed to sell 1,052 tonnes of cotton in the week that ended on Aug 4, an Alcotexa official said on Monday.
The sales comprised 275 tonnes of Giza 88 grade cotton and 777 tonnes of Giza 86, the official said.
The deals bring Alcotexa’s export commitments for the 2011/12 season, which began in September 2011, to 85,268 tonnes, worth $265.85 million.
By this time last year, Alcotexa had sold 110,664 tonnes of cotton worth $455.73 million.
