German chancellor Anglea Merkel arrived in Abu Dhabi Monday evening for a four day tour visit to the Gulf, the AP reported Tuesday. Merkel is accompanied by a high-profile business delegation that includes representatives from Siemens AG, Deutsche Bahn, and Linde.
Merkel will meet Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyann and UAE president Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, before traveling on to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar.
Talks with regional leaders are expected to focus on Mideast peace issues, Iran’s nuclear program, and regional business opportunities.
