Planes began filling European airspace yesterday after five days of closures, with around half of all regular flights in operation, The National reported Wednesday.
“One piece of good news for flights from the Gulf was that airspace over the UK, though closed for take-offs and landings, had reopened yesterday for over-flights,” the National reported.
This move allowed flights from the Middle East and North America to fly over the UK at approximately 10,000 meters and higher.
British Airways flights reportedly left the US, UAE, and Beijing and Singapore, headed for the UK, in expectation of being cleared for landing upon arrival in London.
